Alphonso Conley helps Upland football team rally past Damien

UPLAND — As a defensive back, Alphonso Conley’s primary objective is to prevent touchdowns from happening. Friday night, Conley showed he can put points on the scoreboard, as well.
Conley gave Upland’s offense a needed spark in the second half, scoring a pair of touchdowns from the Wildcat formation to help the Highlanders rally past Damien for a 27-22 Baseline League victory.

Tough Loss for the Spartans, Etiwanda extends win streak

LA VERNE >>Critics of Etiwanda’s perfect nonleague record hadn’t played the type of competition the Eagles would see in the Baseline League.
Friday night, the Eagles opened league play and are still undefeated.
Etiwanda (6-0) used a bruising defense and a dynamic passing game to spoil Damien’s homecoming with a 17-3 victory Friday night.

Damien Spartans falls short against Amat in much anticipated showdown

Given Damien credit, because it fought and battled and the showdown lived up to the hype, but Bishop Amat jumped to an early lead and never gave it away before pulling away late for a 53-28 victory in front of a standing-room only crowd.
